A Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) is sometimes referred to as an "auto warranty" or "extended car warranty," but it is not a true warranty. Instead, a VSC offers repair coverage for your vehicle after the original manufacturer's warranty has expired. It is an agreement between you and the VSC provider or administrator that outlines which repairs are covered and which are not. Not all vehicles are eligible for coverage, and some repairs may not be included under your chosen plan. Refer to the contract for complete details. Not available in Massachusetts. In California, mechanical breakdown coverage is offered as Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI), which is administered by Endurance Warranty Insurance Services under CA License #6009544 and underwritten by Security National Insurance Company. MBI provides repair coverage once the manufacturer’s warranty expires, but it is not a manufacturer's warranty.
